Thohir Given Honorary Degree by Lampung People
South Lampung – Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick
Thohir was given the honorary title ‘Raden Bangsawan’ by Lampung People when he
was ‘Mulang Tiyuh’ to his region. The title was given by an Indigenous People
of Marga Dantaran, in a traditional ceremony held in the Hall of Kebangsaan
High School, Saturday (6/19/2021).
For the information,
Erick Thohir was the proud son of region Gunung Sugih, Central Lampung. The arrival of Minister SOEs together with Deputy Chairman of the People's
Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia that is also the founder of
Kebangsaan High School Dr. (H.C.) H. Zulkifli Hasan, S.E., M.M. were very
warmly welcomed by civitas academica Kebangsaan High School and the citizen
there.
He was not only
given the peerage, Erick Thohir also officially appointed as a young brother of
Zulkifli Hasan by tradition. Because in the Marga Dantaran, South Lampung,
Zulkifli Hasan already had the title of Batin Eka Perkasa. The honorable title to
the nobility or king. While the title of Raden Bangsawan that was just given to
Erick Thohir indicates that both are brothers.
“This is like
brothers. Mr. Zul is the old brother, and Mr. Erick is the young brother. Both
are legally approved by the Marga Dantaran,” said Sai Batin, Prince Ahmad
Fajrin as head of Marga Dantaran who was leading the process of Punggawa Adok
(awarding the title).
According to Dr.
Zulkifli Hasan, this awarding of this customary title was not only ceremonial
but also an effort to preserve the traditional culture. “This is the role of
the constitution. This is the source of our national wealth. Lampung has aksara
in writing, tapis which has been around for hundreds of years. If it lost, that
will be our loss, the nation, and the country,” he said when delivered the
speech.
He also encouraged
community leaders, local police chiefs, and all academic communities of
Kebangsaan High School to continue to introduce Lampung cultural customs in
every activity."Therefore, the creative economy, craftsmen of traditional
attributes in our area can also succeed. The impact will be widespread,
Lampung's name will be well-known in the national and international
arena," he added.
Meanwhile, Erick
Thohir felt touched because he can attend in the middle of Marga Dantaran
traditional leader in the ceremony of Seangkonan Muakhi which very sacral. He
was also very grateful to the Prince of Naga Bringsang V and all of the
traditional figure Marga Dantaran, for his honorary to have a relationship with
the tradition of the clan. “InsyaAllah, I will keep the trust very well. I hope
this title is useful not only for Lampung but also for me and my family,” he
said.
For the information,
this event was enlivened by a variety of traditional events, such as embedding
shawl of tapis, silat, and traditional dance. All of the events were held with
