An educational institution founded by Mr. Dr. (HC). H. Zulkifli Hasan, S.E., M.M. the first is Senior High School (SMA). SMA was chosen because at that level, the superior HR candidates from Lampung Province will be strictly educated by educators who will be ready to develop all the potential and talents of the students so that later they become human beings who believe and fear God Almighty, orderly worship and do lots of charity to advance society young generation with strong character and noble character, honest and responsible who have insight into nationality, struggle, local wisdom and community culture, young people who have high human resources, master science and technology, creative and innovative, based on the noble values ​​of Pancasila, UUD 1945, Bhineka Tunggal Ika and NKRI.

On this basis, then on April 12, 2013 is a historic day because the inscription of the establishment of the National School was inaugurated, which was named SMA Kebangsaan by the Minister of Education and Culture of Indonesia at that time Prof. Dr. Ir. Zulkifli Hasan, S.E., M.M. on an area of ​​more than 20 ha which is located on Jl.Trans Sumatera KM.75 Pisang Village, Penengah Kalianda District, South Lampung Regency. The school adopts a boarding school system, starting from students to the entire academic community of SMA Kebangsaan. All students are the best boys and girls from each district in Lampung Province, through a rigorous and merit-based screening test. The sons and daughters of choice from each district in Lampung Province with the best achievements are the ones who receive scholarships from the Regional Government and the Lampung Province. In the future, the quality of the school will continue to be improved and its facilities and infrastructure will develop rapidly into a national education center.
